Terms

Terms of Service

Effective October 31, 2026

In short

Agreement

These terms apply to the SORT website and the SORT desktop apps, made by CDAV.IO. By using SORT you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use SORT.

Using SORT

You may use SORT for free, on as many computers as you like, for personal or commercial purposes. There is no account, no subscription and no paid version.

Your files are your responsibility

SORT reads, copies, moves and renames files on your own disks, following the settings you choose.

Keep a backup of photos and videos you cannot replace before you sort them. You are responsible for the folders you choose and for having the right to the files you sort.

Open source

SORT's source code is published at github.com/CDAVIO/Sort under the MIT License. That license governs the code. These terms cover the website and the apps as CDAV.IO provides them.

Acceptable use

Do not use SORT, the website or the bug report form to break the law, to attack or overload the services, or to send spam or harmful content.

No warranty

SORT is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not promise that SORT will be free of errors, that it will read every file or camera, or that it will always be available.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, CDAV.IO is not liable for any loss of data, files or profits, or for any indirect or consequential damage, arising from the use of SORT or from being unable to use it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Third-party services and names

The website is hosted by Netlify, and downloads come from GitHub. Their own terms apply to those services. Camera and device names such as iPhone, Canon, DJI and GoPro belong to their owners and appear only to describe files. SORT is not affiliated with them.

Changes

We may update these terms. The new version will appear on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use SORT after a change means you accept the updated terms.
